Limestone Quarries

The Taff Gorge from the Garth in 1907 with the Lesser Garth on the right and the ruins of the Pentyrch Ironworks in the centre with quarries on both sides of the gorge. 

Creigiau Quarry workers. The quarry was opened in the 1870s to provide stone for building Cardiff Docks.

The Dolomite Kilns were in a very prominent position in the Taff Gorge. They supplied th steel industry for over 60 years until the 1970s.
