A series of road closures will be put in place for the Guinness Men's Six Nations Championship 2026 matches at Principality Stadium.

During these matches, roads around the Principality Stadium will close on health and safety grounds.

Progress Continues on Major Coastal Defence Scheme

Work on a major flood defence scheme in south-east Cardiff is progressing well, as construction on the scheme continues - to protect homes, businesses, and key infrastructure from flooding, coastal erosion, and the impacts of rising sea levels.

When complete, the coastal defence scheme will safeguard 1,116 residential

and 72 non‑residential properties, local businesses, and vital infrastructure including Rover Way, Welsh Water pumping stations, the steelworks, and local electricity assets for decades to come.

 Construction work on Castle Street improvements to begin in February

Work to make the temporary road layout and cycleway on Castle Street permanent will begin at the end of February, following site surveys and removal of the traffic islands on Kingsway.

Initial work will start on February 2nd, focusing on required surveys and preparation of the site. The main phases of the project will begin on February 23rd and are expected to take around 52 weeks to complete.
