The production by Theatr na nÓg tells the true story of Cuthbert Taylor, a gifted Black boxer from Merthyr Tydfil who, despite his Olympic-level talent, was denied the chance to fight for a British title purely because of the colour of his skin.

Pupils, staff, and families have come together to honour the school’s rich history ahead of its relocation to a new site, less than half a mile away.
Celebrations have included a dress-up day reflecting the school’s past eras, classroom explorations of how Lansdowne has changed over time and the creation of memory boards filled with photos and stories from past and present pupils, staff and families. The school came together on Monday lunchtime for a whole-school picnic, accompanied by music through the ages.
