No.79 Bridleway Creigiau Stopping up Order
CREIGIAU: SECTION 118 HIGHWAY ACT 1980 STOPPING UP ORDER – PENTYRCH NO.79 BRIDLEWAY, CARDIFF
Dear Statutory Consultee
Location: Creigiau Farm, Creigiau, Cardiff, CF15 9NN What3Words Location: https://w3w.co/homes.note.depend
I am writing to inform you an application has been made to extinguish the Public Right of Way Pentyrch No.79 bridleway. The bridleway is inaccessible on its current alignment due to property frontages and no access across the former railway line. The landowner has applied to extinguish the bridleway as no alternative routes are deemed suitable or agreeable.

Landowner Statement of Reasons for Extinguishment of Bridleway:
Extensive and multiple site visits have already been held with the council Public Rights of Way Officer and the landowners own consultant to see if as a first option if it is possible to divert Bridleway 79 rather than apply to extinguish it. Unfortunately for various reasons such as there being no easy place to divert the route to in order to link it up with another public road or public right of way and adjoining landowners not been willing to accommodate a diversion this has proved not viable.
As background the west end (Point A) of Bridleway 79 ends on an overgrown railway bed and therefore serves no practical termination or joins any other public route whilst the eastern end (Point B) joins public Footpath 98 going north on quarry land but also it used to join Bridleway 88 which ran a long way south but was legally permanently extinguished a few years ago and was the main adjoining length of this bridleway route.
