How to report an issue to Cardiff Council
Cardiff Council Resident Reporting Guide - click here
Click on the link above for a guide to assist residents and businesses in reporting waste-related issues to the Council. This guide is intended for you to share with your constituents and covers the following areas:
Waste collections
Street cleaning
Enforcement
Trade waste
General questions and complaints
Councillor Follow-Up for Ongoing Issues
Residents should, if possible, report issues directly to Waste Management using the guide provided, to ensure concerns are addressed as promptly as possible.
A resident’s waste-related concern should only be escalated to you, as a Local Councillor, if it has not been resolved satisfactorily. In such cases, you may raise the issue on their behalf via the Member Enquiry Portal or by emailing membersservices@cardiff.gov.uk.
Currently, over 40% of enquiries are submitted by Councillors many via their mobile phones to the portal. If you are unfamiliar with how to use the Member Enquiry Portal, staff are available to guide you through the process. Please contact the Member Services Team via membersservices@cardiff.gov.uk .
Note that the email account CllrCollectionRequests@cardiff.gov.uk will be closed and unsupported from 1 November 2025, so you will not receive a response from this email address.
We hope this information assists.
